Frequently Asked Questions

What is a typical boudoir portrait?
There really is no such thing as a typical boudoir portrait. Boudoir images are whatever you would like them to be. Since everyone wants something a little different, boudoir images vary greatly from person to person.
While some women elect to be nude for some portion of their portrait session, it is also common for women to be fully clothed throughout the session. What matters most is that you feel comfortable in whatever poses you chose.
Whether you are looking for an elegant romantic image or want to raise the temperature significantly, I can help you achieve the results you desire.

If you plan to include any nudity in your portraits (or if you will be nude for any portion of your portrait session), then I will require proof that you are over the age of 18.

When should I consider boudoir images?
The time to consider a boudoir portrait series is right now. Although we all hope to age gracefully, the unfortunate truth is that we will never look better than we do right now. Now is the time to take that romantic or provocative image to capture you at your absolute best.

Who will be present?
The only people who will know about the portrait session are you, the photographer, and anyone else you may have told. I never tell anyone else. If you would feel comfortable having another person present, then by all means ask them along. It is important that you feel completely relaxed and safe during the photo session. I ask that you consider the amount of space available for the photo session and ensure there is enough room for you, your guests, any props or furnishing that will appear in the photos, the photographer, and the photo equipment.

What is a Portrait Pary?
An alternate idea you might consider is a "Girls Night Out"; where you plan a party around a boudoir photography theme. Wine and hors d orderves will be served as each of you take turns with the photographer. Four or more guests are required.

What should I wear?
What you want to convey in your boudoir portraits will largely dictate what you will wear and how you will dress. If you will have bare skin photographed, then you should wear loose fitting clothing (avoiding anything with elastic or wires) around any portion of your body that will be shown to the camera. To get that silky skin look, wear loose fitting clothing prior to your boudoir portrait session.

During the portrait session you may wear one or more different outfits. Here is a list of some clothing, accessory items, and ideas you might consider: A mini skirt, a uniform, lingerie (thongs, panties and bra set), an off the shoulder top, an open front blouse, something transparent, anything fishnet, western hat and boots, his construction tools and belt, hats and gloves, high heels, flower petals, his favorite shirt and thigh high stockings.

The goal in selecting what to wear is to convey a sense of romance, sensuality, playfulness, love, and affection.

What about hair and makeup?
Since you want to look your absolute best you should either plan some significant time to do your hair and makeup, or have it done professionally. I have an independent make up artist available for your session. She is available before your sesion and during your session for touchups and if you would like a different look. Since she is independent, please inform me asap that you would like to schedule her servies so I can verify her availabilty.

Can you airbrush scars or blemishes?
I provide free retouching on all images. I'm happy to alter your images as little or much as you would like (i.e. touching up cellulite, veins, wrinkles, etc). Please see my before and after page!

How long is the session?
I allow 2 hours in my schedule. This allows for plenty of time for clothing/hair changes. I never want a client to feel rushed.

How long does it take to receive my order?
Prints and gallery wrapped canvas will be ready for pick up 3 weeks after the order is placed. Since albums and portriat boxes are custom made by hand out of state, they take 4-6 weeks to receive.
