Why are all of the images in black and white? Is color an option?
My favorite quote is, "If you're photographing in color you show the color of their clothes - if you use black and white, you will show the color of their soul."
Each pose will be shown in color and black and white at your preview session.
How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?
I recommend booking 4 weeks in advance for weekday appointments and 6-8 weeks in advance for Saturday appointments.
When will I be able to view my proofs?
We will schedule your premiere session at the time of your appointment, typically 7-10 days after
your session.
How many poses will I get to pick from?
There isn't really a set number since my photography sessions are not “cookie cutter“. Each photo shoot is tailored to each individual person, the clothes they have,
the props they brought with them, etc. If I see something I like, or if I have an idea, I may spend more time on it.
Typically I'll show 40 poses during a client presentation, but often it is up to 60. Basically, it all just depends on your outfits, props, attitude, personality, energy, etc.
How long does it take to receive my order?
Prints will be ready for pick up 3-4 weeks after the order is placed. Gallery wrapped canvas takes 4-5 weeks. Custom ordered portrait boxes and albums take 6 weeks.
Do you print your own photos?
No. Unlike some photographers that may print their own pictures using a color printer or the local warehouse club one-hour photo kiosk, I send all of my images to a highly skilled,
professional photographic lab for processing. Just like high-end wedding photos, my prints are made using the highest quality professional photographic paper,
developed using traditional darkroom chemistry. The lab then mounts each photo to a thick backing board and sprays it with a protective satin coating so it is ready for framing.
This provides the quality and true archival life that you should demand for any professional portrait.
May I purchase the digital files?
I currently do not sell the proofs or high resolution images on cd with the exception of commercial photography. Web sized images are available.
I'm interested in maternity portraits. When is the best time to have these done?
I prefer women to be 35-37 weeks. I have made a list of common maternity session questions here!
What can I expect at my baby's milestone sessions?
